Data Deletion
You should always be in control of your data. Here’s every way to delete your information from Summarise, from a single summary to your entire account.
Delete a single summary
Open your history page, find the entry you want to remove, and click the trash icon on the right edge. That summary, its prompt, and its output will be deleted immediately.
Clear all history
On the history page, click the “Clear all” button at the top right. Confirm the dialog — this permanently removes every past summary from your account.
Remove an API key
Go to your settings page and delete any stored API keys. Once deleted, requests will fall back to the platform free tier (if you have quota remaining) or prompt you to add a new key.
Delete your entire account
Email hello@summarise.io from the Google account you used to sign in. We’ll delete your user record, request history, API keys (encrypted), and any stored metadata within 30 days. You’ll receive a confirmation once deletion is complete.
Disconnect Google auth
Deleting your Summarise account does not automatically revoke Google’s OAuth access. To fully disconnect, visit your Google Account permissions page and revoke Summarise’s access separately.
What stays after deletion
Anonymized, aggregated usage statistics (e.g., total requests processed in a month) may be retained for internal reporting — these contain no personally identifiable information. Backups may retain data for up to 90 days before being rotated.
